Terms of Use
Updated 3 October 2026. Mode Atlas is a Japanese study tool developed by Jack Wright. By using it, you agree to these terms and acknowledge the Privacy Policy. Questions can be sent to support@mode-atlas.com.
Your learning and account
You may use Mode Atlas for personal study, with or without an account. Keep access to your sign-in provider secure. You remain responsible for the words, notes, names, avatars and reports you submit. Mode Atlas is a study aid, not an official qualification or a guarantee of language proficiency.
A welcoming Friends community
Do not use abusive, hateful, threatening, sexual or misleading names or images. Do not impersonate another person or the Mode Atlas team, harass people with unwanted requests, submit deliberately false reports, manipulate rankings, or attempt to bypass access controls or service limits. Use only an image you have the right to share.
You can report a profile from Friends and block people you do not want to interact with. Admin and Moderators may send account warnings. We may reset a name or avatar, remove content, or restrict Friends access when needed to address misuse. A Friends restriction does not remove your private learning progress. Contact support@mode-atlas.com to raise a concern or appeal a moderation decision.
Your content and progress
You keep your rights to content you provide. You allow Mode Atlas and its service providers to store and process that content to operate the features you use, including syncing saves and displaying your chosen Friends profile. Local and cloud saves can be affected by connectivity, device changes and software errors. Rankings reflect synced progress and are for friendly comparison.
Weekly competition
The optional global weekly competition counts eligible live practice received before the shared Monday UTC reset. Its displayed rules explain scoring, participation requirements and XP prizes. Imported progress and ordinary personal XP bonuses do not count toward the competition. XP prizes are in-app progress with no cash value and cannot be transferred. Interrupted uploads may not qualify. Leaving the competition, leaving Friends or a Friends restriction can withdraw an entry before prizes are issued. Deliberately fabricated practice or automated score submissions may lead to restriction or correction of a ranking.
Availability and changes
Features may change as Mode Atlas develops. Beta builds may contain errors or become unavailable, and TestFlight builds expire. We may interrupt features to maintain or protect the service. We will update the date on these terms when they change.
Leaving and deletion
You can stop using Mode Atlas at any time. Leave Friends removes your social profile and connections. Delete account & data in Settings removes your account and cloud data as described in the Privacy Policy. Contact support if you cannot access the account deletion option.
Your rights
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or remedies that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer or privacy law. If something is wrong, contact us with enough information to understand and help resolve it.
